Sorry folks, just another talking head video. But I wanted for a long time to put this up as a kind of part 2 of the supermarket video. I realize this video is very long, but I’m amazed at how much I still forgot to mention. Cucumber Pepsi! Doh! I add money to my skype account via the conbini sometimes. Very cool.
Also interesting are other small differences in where and when things are sold. Generally alcohol is on sale 24 hours a day 7 days a week, unlike many parts of my home country. Also notable, condoms are put in the aisle next to other personal hygenie goods, where in the US they are generally kept behind the counter by the staff. The conbini is really a microcosom of Japan in many ways. It certainly, for me at least, is interesting to compare to the US and notice the cultural differences.
